Bistro Se7en and The Ribs Part 2

I had my first western style pork ribs 2 years ago when I enjoyed my trip in Australia, at Tony Roma's. Over here I can find the same restaurant in Sunway Pyramid and Cineleisure but all the chained stores only sell Halal and thus no pork served.

When I found this ribs restaurant, I begun to recall the juicy flesh when I bit and teared the flesh from the ribs and the tasty sum spilled from the bones when I sucked it like a straw, when I enjoyed the fabulous ribs in Sydney.

With a little "warm up" at Bistro Se7en, we walked into the Ribs...

We were welcomed by few rows of wines and the wines with varieties of sparkling, Shiraz and so forth are for sale...

If you notice from the first photo, this Ribs restaurant is under the Vintry group which is a wine specialist...

You can find the Vintry Wine Shop few doors away from the Ribs.

None of us are wine expert and we had our beers just before, so we headed to the dining table real quick for the big thing of the night.

The dishes came real quick, I guess within 15 minute after our order was taken. We had the signature Caesar Salad...

It's indeed unique that the calamari rings were so crispy to bite on them and with no oil spilled out! Thumbs up!!

My friend and I are big fan of crispy bacon (pork, not beef). We didn't see any bacon in the menu. Upon checking with the waitress, we were told that the menu has been changed few times since their opening in 2005 and they don't serve bacon anymore. However, with the kind service from the restaurant, we were offered a "special arrangement" to have bacon on our table, which the dish was ordered from their branch few doors away...

We were so pleased with the service and glad we had this dish! Not oily at all, with a balanced cook to make the bacon taste good to chew. With the spice on top of it and the vegetables to neutralize and blend all different tastes to the tongue, I was rather trying to chew the bacon wrap for longer time than swallow it right away. I recommend you ask for the "special arrangement", no regret at all. Alternatively you can try it at the Vintry Wine Shop.

The starters and the ribs were served almost the same time. We had the Today's Special, the Carolina Pork Ribs with Apple Sauce...

The apple sauce on Carolina ribs was good, but the ribs were a bit tasteless that the sauce and the spice did not permeate into the flesh.

And the signature BBQ Pork Ribs...

Needless to describe further since this is the signature of the restaurant. It just tasted good!

Overall, the ribs were good. The difference between the one I had in Australia with this, was Tony Roma's ribs (flesh) were juicier and the Ribs' one were dryer, the sauce for both were comparable. Also as general rule of thumb when enjoying good food, I recommend to have a taste on Carolina ribs or any lighter taste ribs before move your fork onto the BBQ ribs.

We were not done yet with 2 plates of ribs, just yet! Since we did not take any wine, we still had rooms in our stomach for some sweeties.

The tiramisu...

With some fun on the camera's AF illuminator...

Looks good? :)

And the caramel pudding (I can't recall the exact name)...

Both were so-so quality by my friend. But I would recommend for those who don't like too sweet. To me, both tasted just nice, not too sweet. We eat and think later but we must eat healthily with no worries on cholesterol and blood sugar thingy later right? :)

Here's the price for the main course...

And the contact. Apparently they have a branch at Jaya 33...
