Kemah Boardwalk

My trip to Houston wasn't a leisure one, it's a battle on my new assignment, taking over someone's works back to my country and therefore you can expect the difficulties. Hence, I never expect to have pleasant weekends over my stay in the States. But there was an invite from a lead to a tourist place near to the Gulf of Mexico for a lunch over one of the Saturday. Well, I never fond about visiting tourist places whenever I am on business trip, I didn't even pay any visit to any tourist spots such as NASA Center etc in my previous trips, except hopping from malls to malls to grab some cheap branded stuff. Anyway, since it's meant for social outside of work, I accepted the invite and drove around 45 minutes to the place, the Kemah Boardwalk...

Kemah? It's an English place located close to Galveston or the Gulf of Mexico, it's a place that local residents "picnic" here for some quality family time...

And what a coincidence that Kemah means tent or picnic or camp in Bahasa Malaysia.

It's also a place for yacht owner to dock their yacht...

And sail out with the family during weekends...

I wish I could afford a yacht in my hometown.

It's also a theme park...

With old Houston style hotel...

Also several events planned every weekend to attract locals and tourists...

Aiks, I missed the fireworks event on the night before.

But this trip was meant for the social lunch, so I didn't really explore much but heading directly to a restaurant named Aquarium...

I have been to this restaurant several times in the downtown branch but this is the first time I came to this branch. I was told this was the first branch and expanded to other cities like the downtown branch after the business getting well. What makes this restaurant a unique one is the 3-floor tube aquarium from the reception counter to the dining area in second and third floor, so you are dining in the underwater world where all the fishes swim around you including few sharks.

I was welcomed by a Shark when entered the restaurant...

And very fortunate that I arrived during the feeding time. You can see fishes including a hungry shark was surrounding the diver...

One followed another...

This was the shark I hunted in my recent diving trip. Look at the sleepy eyes...

2 lazy sharks took a nap at the aquarium bed after meal...

It's quite an experience to explore the restaurant if you have not been there before and if you are not a diver. But the food was just typical Texan huge dish, nothing special about it and therefore I did not bother to take any shots.

Oh, I just recalled I recorded a video, you can see how the shark begged for food in the video. Who say shark is scary?

And before I left the area, I walked through the sourvenir shop and found the family of my kind...

Look alike to the photos that someone posted in facebook, but these are not real. Hehe...

I didn't buy them though, but got myself 2 hooks...

USD$5, not sure if it can be used for diving.
